RUTHERFORD POOL YPSILANTI, MICHIGAN

GLENN SQUARE

GLENN, MICHIGAN

Chris Allen was the project architect for The Rutherford Pool while he was employed at Kadushin Associates Architects Planners.

The Rutherford Pool is a public pool located in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  The pool was closed by the City due to budget cutting in 2011.   In an effort to re-open the pool, a local neighborhood group (Friends of the Rutherford Pool/FORP), raised nearly $1,000,000 to re-open and replace the aging and deteriorated pool structure.

Water Technologies Inc. (WTI) was the designer of the pool and systems, in conjunction with Kadushin Associates and FORP.

Chris Allen was the architect for the Glenn Square Gazebo located in Glenn, Michigan.   The local business group (Glenn Area Business Association/GABA) wanted a structure for their downtown park (Glenn Square) as a place to host events and activities.  Students from the Glenn School collected stones from the nearby beach at Lake Michigan.  These stones were used at the base of the columns.  The gazebo is used for many purposes, including the annual Circle of Lights Celebration.
